PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. . . The 2027 Kia Telluride is Here!
February 02 2026

We have gotten calls, texts, emails, in person visits and even mail (yes, that really happened), asking when we would get the first 2027 Kia Telluride. And this is our public service announcement saying IT’S HERE.

Wait did I miss the 2026?

Kia essentially skipped a traditional 2026 Telluride model year as it prepared for a full second-generation redesign, shifting focus to launching the all-new 2027 Telluride instead. The next-generation Telluride was revealed in late 2025 and is expected to go on sale in early 2026, which is why many shoppers saw the lineup jump forward in model years. Industry coverage and Kia release information point to the brand prioritizing a major redesign, new technology, and the addition of an available hybrid powertrain rather than releasing a minor 2026 refresh.

What’s New on the 2027 Kia Telluride

The 2027 Telluride is a full redesign with major upgrades inside and out. It keeps the bold, rugged look drivers love, but grows larger and more refined to compete with luxury SUVs while still offering strong value.

The biggest headline feature is the first-ever available Telluride hybrid powertrain, delivering up to about 329 horsepower and an estimated 35 MPG combined, along with a potential driving range around 600 miles.

For drivers who prefer traditional gas performance, a new turbocharged engine replaces the previous V6, producing strong torque for confident acceleration and towing.

The redesigned Telluride also gets:

  • Larger overall size with more passenger and cargo room
  • Available massage driver seat and relaxation front seats
  • Available climate-controlled second row captain’s chairs
  • Standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Available dual wireless phone chargers
  • Available heated seating in all three rows
  • Available dual 12.3-inch digital displays

These upgrades help position the Telluride closer to luxury-level comfort while staying practical for everyday use.

Built for Minnesota and Wisconsin Driving

For Duluth and Superior drivers dealing with snow, hills, and constantly changing road conditions, the Telluride continues to focus on all-weather capability. The upgraded X-Pro off-road trim includes wider all-terrain tires for improved traction, an electronic limited slip differential to help distribute power in low-grip situations, and multi-terrain AWD drive modes designed for conditions like snow, mud, and dirt. It also adds a Ground View Monitor to help improve visibility of obstacles or deep snow directly in front of the vehicle, along with up to about 9.1 inches of ground clearance to help navigate rough roads, unplowed streets, or trail conditions common across Northern Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin. That means more confidence heading up the hills in Duluth, heading north for cabin weekends or driving back and forth to many snowy hockey tournaments.

A Bigger, More Premium Interior

Inside, the 2027 Telluride focuses heavily on comfort and usable space. The new generation adds more legroom, easier third-row access, and more cargo room behind the third row — perfect for hockey bags, strollers, or weekend gear.

The cabin now features:

  • Quieter interior materials
  • Wraparound dashboard design
  • Ambient lighting
  • Streaming capability and advanced voice assistant technology
  • Over-the-air update capability

It’s designed to feel more like a premium SUV while still being family ready.

2027 Telluride and its Competitors

When shoppers in Duluth and Superior compare three-row SUVs, the Kia Telluride is typically cross-shopped with vehicles like the Ford Explorer, Toyota Highlander, and Chevrolet Traverse because they offer similar space, power, and family capability. The Telluride has historically started in the mid-$30,000 range and reached into the mid- $50,000 range depending on trim, with around 290 horsepower, seating for seven or eight, and roughly 87 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. By comparison, the Ford Explorer generally starts around $39,000 with about 300 horsepower, up to roughly 85 cubic feet of cargo space, and towing capacity around 5,000 pounds. The Toyota Highlander typically starts in the low-to-mid $40,000 range, produces horsepower in the mid-200 range, and is often chosen for fuel efficiency, especially in hybrid models. The Chevrolet Traverse usually starts in the mid-$40,000 range, produces around 328 horsepower, and offers some of the largest cargo space in the class at close to 98 cubic feet. Across Northern Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin, buyers often compare these models based on winter capability, road trip comfort, passenger space, and long-term value, with each model prioritizing a slightly different balance of power, efficiency, and interior room.
